Jackson State might be the hottest team on the recruiting trail right now as they have now landed their second 4-star prospect for the Class of 2023. The Tigers already hold a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Robert Lockhart III out of Fairburn, GA. Now the Tigers have secured a commitment from Isiah Kendall out of Newport, AR according to Kendall’s social media.

Kendall is a 4-star wide receiver according to the 247Sports composite, in which he ranks as a Top-300 prospect in the country and a Top-40 WR in the Class of 2023. The 6-foot-4, 175-pound WR is also the #2 player in the state of Arkansas. Kendall held offers from multiple notable FBS programs including Air Force, Indiana, & Arkansas State. In the 2020 season, Kendall produced over 700 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns and was named All-Conference as a sophomore.
After Kendall’s commitment, Jackson State now has a Top-60 recruiting class in the country for the class of 2023. The Tigers have a chance to set the bar extremely high for the rest of the FCS after multiple players have announced that Jackson State is one of their top programs. Recently 5-star Peter Woods announced that Jackson State is one of his top-4 teams after the Tigers extended an offer last week.
Jackson State’s WR room is going to be one of the deepest in college football throughout the next few seasons. Malachi Wideman, Kevin Coleman, TreVonte Rucker, & possibly Travis Hunter will be some of the top options in the Tigers’ passing game. Both 2023 recruits in Lockhart and Kendall compliment each other extremely well; as Lockhart projects to be a slot WR and Kendall has the size to be a force on the outside.
Coach Prime has now landed 18 of the 20 highest rated recruits to sign with Jackson State, including 5-star Travis Hunter and 4-star Kevin Coleman. Jackson State has redefined success on the recruiting trail for FCS programs and this class is shaping up to be another loaded class now that Kendall has announced his commitment to Jackson State.
