FCS Football: Highest Graded Returning Cornerbacks In 2023

We utilized the Pro Football Focus (PFF) database and grading system to take a look at the highest-graded returning cornerbacks across FCS football entering the 2023 season.

Each player’s PFF Grade represents their overall defensive grade from the 2022 season, including postseason games. Cornerbacks who played 20% of the minimum number of snaps were included in the rankings below. All rankings and statistics were gathered using the Pro Football Focus database.

1. Eric Haney (San Diego)

PFF Defensive Grade: 89.5

2022 Statistics: 48 total tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, 7 pass breakups, 88.7 coverage grade

2. Franky West (Eastern Kentucky)

PFF Defensive Grade: 89.0

2022 Statistics: 48 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 interceptions, 7 pass breakups, 90.4 coverage grade

3. Carlvainsky Decius (Morgan State)

PFF Defensive Grade: 88.8

2022 Statistics: 23 total tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, 1 defensive touchdown, 89.6 coverage grade

4. Quinn Warweg (Butler)

PFF Defensive Grade: 87.3

2022 Statistics: 26 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception, 3 pass breakups, 0 touchdowns allowed, 89.7 coverage grade

5. Marcus Harris (Idaho)

PFF Defensive Grade: 86.7

2022 Statistics: 53 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 14 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, 1 defensive touchdown, 85.0 coverage grade



6. DyShawn Gales (South Dakota State)
