DL Coynis Miller Announces Return To JSU
Jackson State defensive lineman Coynis Miller announced his return to Jackson State. Miller announced his transfer after the 2021 season but ultimately did not play during the 2022 season.
Miller saw action in 11 games in 2021 for the Tigers. He finished the season with 20 total tackles, five tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery. Miller had a career-high five tackles against Louisiana-Monroe.
He signed with Auburn out of Jackson-Olin High School in the class of 2018. Miller was the No. 10 defensive tackle and No. 3 player in the state of Alabama, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Bucknell DB Jonathan Searcy Transfers To Samford
Former Bucknell defensive back Jonathan Searcy announced his commitment to Samford. He will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer for the Bulldogs.
Searcy saw action in 37 games over four seasons for the Bison. He totaled 111 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble. He was named an FCS Stats National Defensive Player of the Week honorable mention after posting eight tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble against Cornell in 2021.
Searcy signed with Bucknell out of Shawnee High School in 2019. He earned first-team All-Conference and third-team All-South Jersey honors as a senior.
Ball State QB Kaden Cobb Commits To Howard
Former Ball State quarterback Kaden Cobb announced his commitment to Howard. Cobb will have four years of eligibility remaining for the Bison.
He redshirted for the Cardinals last season during his true freshman season. Cobb signed with Ball State as a three-star prospect in the class of 2022. He ranked as the No. 19 player in the state of Illinois, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Cobb was named the 2021 Illinois Player of the Year after leading Fenwick High School to the state championship. He earned first-team All-State honors as a senior and was a three-time first-team All-Conference selection. He set the school record for touchdown passes in a season with 30 touchdowns in 2022.
CCU WR Malachi Taylor Transfer To The Citadel
Former Coastal Carolina wide receiver Malachi Taylor announced his commitment to The Citadel. Taylor will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Bulldogs.
Taylor redshirted for the Chanticleers in 2021 and saw limited action during the 2022 season. He signed with Coastal Carolina as a three-star prospect in the class of 2021.
Taylor was the No. 35 player in the state of South Carolina, according to ESPN. He earned first-team All-Region honors in 2019 and won two consecutive regional championships. He finished his junior season with 700 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.
