Nebraska QB Richard Torres Transfers To UIW
Former Nebraska quarterback Richard Torres announced his transfer to Incarnate Word. Torres will have four years of eligibility remaining for the Cardinals.
Torres did not see any action at Nebraska and took a redshirt this past season. He signed with the Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect out of San Antonio, Texas in the class of 2022.
Torres suffered a knee injury after four games as a senior. In only four games, Torres totaled 912 passing yards and 12 passing touchdowns. Torres was named the Offensive MVP in Texas District 14-5A Division I after throwing for 1,149 yards and 18 touchdowns in a COVID-shortened season.
Campbell LB Justice Galloway Makes Official Visit To Alcorn
Campbell linebacker Justice Galloway made an official visit to Alcorn State. Galloway entered the portal on April 19 as a graduate transfer.
He had a breakout season for the Camels in 2019, earning first-team Big South All-Conference honors and being named a HERO Sports Sophomore FCS All-American. Velazquez finished the season with 111 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and one interception.
As a true freshman in 2018, he finished the year with 24 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and two fumble recoveries.
North Dakota State & The Citadel Sign Two-Game Contract
North Dakota State and The Citadel have agreed to a home-and-home series for the 2025 and 2027 seasons.
The Bison will travel to Charleston, South Carolina for the season opener on Aug. 30, 2025. The Citadel will make the trip to Fargo, North Dakota on Sept. 18, 2027, at the Fargodome.
The 2025 matchup will be the first time the Bison and Bulldogs have met on the football field.
Bryant LB Ryan Saddler Signs With Ottawa
Former Bryant linebacker Ryan Saddler has signed with the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League. He will be the third active player in the CFL that graduated from Bryant.
Saddler earned second-team All-Big South honors in 2022 for the Bulldogs. He finished his final season with 96 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions. He also earned first-team All-NEC honors and was named to the All-New England team in 2021.
Over five seasons at Bryant, Saddler finished his career with 204 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and three pass breakups.
