NSU DB Shemar Bartholomew Enters Transfer Portal

Northwestern State defensive back Shemar Bartholomew announced his entry into the transfer portal Monday. He will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer. 

Bartholomew earned Southland All-Conference honors twice over his four seasons at Northwestern State. He was named a HERO Sports Sophomore All-American honorable mention in 2019. As a sophomore, Bartholomew finished the season with 26 tackles, four interceptions, eight pass breakups, and one defensive touchdown. 

Over his four seasons with the Demons, he totaled 72 tackles, four tackles for loss, nine interceptions, 22 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. 

Charlotte DT Isaiah Potts Commits To Campbell

Former Charlotte defensive tackle Isaiah Potts announced his commitment to Campbell. He will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Camels.

Potts missed the 2022 season due to injury and redshirted the 2021 season as a true freshman. He saw action in one game against Middle Tennessee State during the 2021 season. 

Potts signed with Charlotte as a three-star prospect in the class of 2021. He was a three-time All-Conference selection and earned second-team All-State honors as a senior. He finished his senior season with 61 tackles, eight tackles for loss, six sacks, and 13 quarterback hurries.

JUCO DL Curtis Francis Jr. Transfers To Murray State

Former Foothill College defensive lineman Curtis Francis Jr. announced his commitment to Murray State. He will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Racers.

Francis earned first-team All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons. He finished last season with 49 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and three pass breakups. He had a career-high 10 total tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack against Merced. 

Over his two seasons, Francis totaled 91 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 24 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and four pass breakups. Francis committed initially to Sacramento State on May 31 and decommitted from the Hornets on June 7. 

UMass WR Jermaine Johnson Jr. Commits To Duquesne

Former UMass wide receiver Jermaine Johnson Jr. announced his commitment to Duquesne. He will have two years of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer for the Dukes. 

Johnson became the first true freshman to lead UMass in receptions in program history in 2019. He posted a season-high 92 receiving yards and one touchdown against UConn. He accounted for 60 receptions for 453 receiving yards, and two touchdowns over three seasons for the Minutemen. 

Johnson signed with UMass as a three-star prospect out of DeMatha Catholic (MD) High School. He was the No. 31 player in the state of Maryland in the class of 2019.
