Class of 2023 DB Justin Caudle Commits To Davidson

Davidson is looking to win their 3rd Pioneer League championship in a row this season and were voted Preseason favorites at Pioneer League Media Day last week by the coaches. The Wildcats landed a major commitment from defensive back Justin Caudle who announced his decision Tuesday morning on social media.

Caudle is one of the defensive leaders at Sparkman High School in Harvest, AL. The 5-foot-7, 167-pound defensive back was an Honorable Mention selection for the 7A Region 4 All-Region Team last season, while also being named to the Rocket City Top-5 defensive back list this offseason. Caudle totaled 41 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 16 pass breakups, and 1 defensive touchdown last season. He has been one of the fastest rising athletes on the camp circuit and has received invites to the Top Gun FBU Camp and The Show in Nashville this offseason.

The defensive backfield for the Wildcats will lose multiple top contributors after this offseason, including cornerback Kaedon Jenkins and Quentin James. Caudle possesses excellent athleticism and his ability to make plays on the ball are one of his biggest strengths. The cornerback spot is a need for Davidson in the Class of 2023 and Caudle will be the first piece for the defensive rebuild for the Wildcats.

Davidson opens the 2022 season on the road against Jacksonville State on September 3rd as the Wildcats look to win their 4th PFL championship in school history and their 3rd in the last three seasons.
