Campbell is fresh off a dominant performance in a 48-18 win over North Carolina Central, but the Camels continued that momentum on the recruiting trail. The Camels had the #1 FCS high school recruiting class in the country last season and are on pace to have the top overall FCS recruiting class this season. The latest commitment comes from 4-star running back Ryan Bullard who announced his commitment to the Camels on social media Tuesday morning.

Bullard is a 4-star prospect out of Miami, FL in the class of 2023. The 5-foot-9, 175 pound running back ranks as the 56th prospect in the state of Florida and the 8th overall running back in the country according to Rivals. Bullard held offers from multiple top FBS programs including Florida, Miami, Texas A&M, Penn State, and Nebraska. Last season he totaled over 860 yards rushing and 10 rushing touchdowns while averaging 9.3 yards per carry for Killian High School. The 2020 season was a breakout year for Bullard as he rushed for 1,100 yards and 20 touchdowns in his first season at Killian High School after his transfer from Miami St. Brendan.
Bullard’s commitment was an important one for the running back room as Campbell is projected to lose leading rusher Bryant Barr this offseason and Lamagea McDowell will be a senior next season. Bullard has a chance to follow in the footsteps of NaQuari Rogers who has established himself in the running back rotation as a true freshman this season. The explosiveness and versatility of Bullard will be the two biggest qualities that will make him an instant impact freshman for the Camels next season.
The 2023 recruiting class for Campbell now ranks 74th in the country and is currently higher than multiple Power-5 programs including UCLA, Kansas, Syracuse, and Arizona State. Bullard is the highest ranked recruit in the Campbell class currently and is the 2nd four star to commit to the Camels in the past two seasons (Myles Rowser). The Camels also lead the next closest FCS recruiting class (Jackson State; #102) by almost 30 spots as October begins.
