Guthrie is a 3-star prospect out of Ohio and ranks as a Top-60 prospect in the state in the Class of 2023. The 6-foot-8, 295-pound offensive tackle is a standout at Miami Trace High School and ranks as a Top-135 offensive tackle in the country. Guthrie is a Top-5 offensive tackle in the state of Ohio and has received interest from multiple Power-5 programs, including being invited on a visit to Ohio State. He announced his commitment to Campbell over offers from Marshall, Middle Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, and Illinois State.
Offensive line was a major need for Campbell this offseason as the Camels are primed to lose six offensive lineman this offseason to graduation. Guthrie is the first commitment for the Camels on the offensive line in the Class of 2023. The Camels now have the 81st best recruiting class in the country and have a strong lead over the rest of the FCS as the season approaches. The Camels have used a national recruiting approach as the class holds commitments from players in multiple different states including California, Michigan, New Jersey, Texas, and Tennessee.
Campbell opens the 2022 season against The Citadel on September 1st before traveling to face William & Mary in Week 2.
